Laminated glass is manufactured by bonding two or more layers of glass together with layers of PVB, under heat and pressure, to create a single sheet of glass. Laminated glass is also called sandwich glass and safety glass. A typical laminated makeup would be 3 mm glass / 0.38 mm interlayer / 3 mm glass. This gives a final product that would be referred to as 6.38 laminated glass. Features: ◆Safety: When broken, the PVB interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded and prevents it from breaking apart. ◆Sound insulation: The interlayer can also give the glass a higher sound insulation rating. ◆Resistance to UV light: Laminated glass blocks 99% of incoming UV light.
